During the decade of education for sustainable development (2005-2014) UN decided that 2011 is the “International Year of Chemistry”. The decision to participate to "Open Day" event represents for us a choice of transparency, openness and trust that Cargill has been pursuing with determination for years, in order to consolidate a relationship of credibility, reliability and confidence with the communities where it is embedded.
We believe that an" Open Day" may be the most direct way to demonstrate the significant progress we have achieved over the years in production processes, plant, food citizens’ and employees’ safety.
The Management Team and the local Cargill Cares Council members are working with maximum effort in organizing "Open Factories " and make it a successful event.
There are many activities planned: the plant visit by train accessible to everyone in (there are no age limits), the walking tour of production facilities (reserved for adults and children from 12 years old, accompanied by an adult), Thematic stands(safety, environment, energy, our products and our manufacturing processes, Cargill Cares, "The Way We Were"), games, activities and entertainment for children, creative Chemistry workshops dedicated to children and teenagers, not to mention gifts and a buffet for all guests!
An official invitation will follow for those who subscribed with the day's program and further details. Information on the poster attached.
